PAP did not ask him to stand for EP. He said he is driven by derise to serve Singaporean facing with complex challenges. He also clarified, in tune with PAP, that the EP powers are custodial, and not meant to be 2nd power center. He even went further to say, having been in GIC, he is in a much better position to carry out his duties as EP. What a load of crabs. National wealth is with GIC and TH. I cannot imagine if he is elected as EP, he will question GIC, his very own baby. More like he will make sure that no one will question GIC. On the contrary, he will seek ways and means to help cover up whatever wrongdoings GIC had done because those wrongs were actually done when he was executive director of GIC. Even a kindergarten kid will know this. He is independent? This must be the biggest lie and JOKE of the year. What is he trying to say? Yes, Singaporean, the people will decide and decide wisely. Just take a step back and look again, how PAP had paved the way for this old man slowly surface and the right time, he is definitely NOT INDEPENDENT, even Nathan has come out to say he is an ideal candidate to lead. How contradictory can it be ? On the one hand, T Tan is saying he has no powers as EP to influence government policies and there is only one power center, and yet he said he is also saying he wants to “lead”, in the words of Nathan, he is an ideal candidate to lead ? What are these bunch of clowns saying ? Where was T Tan 5 years ago when Nathan was the only walk over candidate ? Nathan will not stand this time despite of trying to “play hard to get – will give an answer to the journalist in a week”. Reason is very simple, Nathan will lose if he stands again, he will lose to TCB, TKL and he will have no face. Besides, he has gotten enough, 2 terms of millions & millions, he can spend the rest of his life counting $ notes. Timely resignation by T Tan, well timed but this cannot fool Singaporean. Regardless of what he has said, what the PAP ministers had said, what Nathan has said, T Tan cannot run away claiming he is independent. It sadden us that PAP is twisting the natural meaning of the word “independent”. What sadden most is the fact that T Tan and the rest of PAP members still think that they can fool Singaporean yet again with this EP election. They yet again, show the typical PAP’s arrogance by taking Singaporean for granted, thinking that we can’t see through their scheme. They are a bunch of fools and idiots but sadly, Singaporean got to wait for another 5 years before they can be taught a real lesson. By then, hopefully not only one GRC, a lot more if we want to see real changes and reforms within Singapore. If TKL is refused the certificate of eligibility, Singapore will revolt. T Tan, if you are man enough, really a gentleman, then you need not say so much about being independent, people knew, they can see and they can judge. It will be better for T Tan to come out clean to say, Yes, I am PAP endorsed, I am a PAP guy but based on my record, I am standing here before all Singaporean and I say, I am contesting for the post of EP.
